Calibration of an LES Code for Spray Modeling at an Injector Outlet

As part of the FICOSI R&T project (Industrial SME/SMI Sector for Combustion and Injection Systems), GDTech developed the injection system for a Low-Smoke / Low-NOx combustion chamber demonstrator. This work was carried out in simultaneous engineering with Safran Helicopter Engines and the AD Industrie group.
This R&T project is part of the future investment program.

The code calibration for this type of problem focused on pressure drop aspects across the injector and the angle of the formed spray.
The studies carried out in this R&T project subsequently allowed these methods to be applied to support an industrial partner in designing an injector.
