Aerodynamic Calculation of an Onboard Staircase

GDTech was commissioned to develop a methodology to calculate the resultant forces applied to an onboard staircase, as well as the point of application of these forces. Indeed, the addition of risers to these staircases significantly increased the aerodynamic load exerted on the structure during its deployment. The goal was therefore to verify the structure’s wind resistance through:
- Static mechanical calculations to validate the mechanical design of a mass-optimized structure
- Modal analysis to identify and anticipate the natural modes of the structure.
