RIBLETS – Surface Restructuring Using Ultrashort Laser Pulses Based on Fiber Lasers and Temporal and Spatial Beam Shaping Modules

GDTech is partner of the RIBLETS project (Grant Agreement n°8661) awarded by the SKYWIN cluster, with the support of Wallonia.

The project topic is about improving aerodynamics surfaces with riblets.

Our research partners:

Project Objective

The RIBLETS project proposes a new method for producing surface structures (riblets) that enable drag reduction, leading to lower fuel consumption and, consequently, reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

GDTech's Contribution

  • Optimal shapes of riblets
  • CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations
