The project topic is hydrogen and its effect on CFRP.

Project Objective

HYPOLFAIL aims to develop advanced polymeric materials with enhanced hydrogen compatibility and durability for sealing and high-pressure storage applications. By combining AI-driven multiscale modeling with in-situ and ex-situ experimental testing, the project seeks to improve permeation resistance and extend service life. It pioneers a “design THE materials” approach to support sustainable hydrogen economy applications.

  • Modeling damage propagation in CFRP in contact with hydrogen
  • Solution of industrial use cases on composite pressure vessels
