Permanent Contract – Engineer/PhD CFD Aerothermal - M/F

GDTech France is an SME design, engineering, and consulting firm for industry, a specialized Tier 1 supplier to the transport and energy sectors, and a simulation software distributor.

To support its growth, GDTech France is looking for an engineer/PhD for its Numerical Simulation Department.

In this context, you will assume the role of a Design Engineer within the Aerodynamics/Aerothermal group, in GDTech France’s Engineering and Numerical Simulation department. Your responsibilities will include:

• To meet the new industrial challenges of GDTech’s clients in the design, development, and optimization of their products, conduct RANS (or even LES) numerical simulation studies in thermal/aerothermal on various applications: aeronautical engine performance, heat exchangers, rotating machinery, injector design, piping, wind energy, etc.
• Participate in the testing, evaluation, and performance improvements of computational workflows
• Collaborate with other engineers, project managers, and technical leads at GDTech
• Participate in our clients’ product development process
• Participate in technical meetings with the client.

You will be integrated into GDTech France’s Engineering and Digital Services Department to be trained and develop the skills necessary for our clients’ needs. You will therefore work in close collaboration with the company’s engineers and technicians to integrate the acquired skills and working methods.

You hold a Bac +5 Engineering degree or equivalent (Master 2) in Fluid Mechanics (combustion, aerothermal, energy, thermal), possibly complemented by a doctorate, with a specialization in aerothermal. You have good numerical knowledge and experience in RANS (Fluent, CFX, StarCCM+, …), or even LES (Fluent, StarCCM+, AVBP, YALES2).

Ideally, you have significant prior experience (internship, study project, first job) in a similar role acquired in an industrial environment (Aeronautics, Space, Oil&Gas, Energy…) or in a research laboratory. As such, experience gained in the aeronautics or energy sectors will be given careful consideration. Solid knowledge in combustion is an asset.

Proficiency with ANSYS tools (SpaceClaim, DesignModeler, Meshing, Fluent Meshing, Fluent, …) and CATIA V5 will be crucial. Programming skills, particularly in Python and FORTRAN, will also be useful. Proficiency in scientific English is required.
