Contextof the role
As part of the development of its activities in aeronautics and energy, GDTech France is recruiting an engineer or PhD in fluid mechanics for its site in Bordes (64) to participate in the development and industrialization of the YALES2 computing platform, used to perform high-fidelity multiphysics simulations.
For more than 20 years, GDTech has been supporting major contractors and manufacturers with their development and industrialization challenges. Our expertise ranges from combustion to fluid dynamics and thermal engineering, across a wide range of industries (aerospace, energy, space). We are also particularly active in R&D projects, whether as a leader, partner, or subcontractor, and work closely with various laboratories that are experts in their fields (testing, numerical codes).
Descriptionof the role
In this context, you will serve as a Design Engineer within the CFD/Code Industrialization team, reporting directly to the head of the Scientific Code Industrialization group at GDTech France. In this role, you will be required to:
• Participate in the development and industrialization of the YALES2 computing platform and support the team’s expertise in this tool, both in the development of business tools and in the performance of advanced simulations.
• Carry out numerical simulation studies in line with your skills (fluid mechanics, combustion, thermal, mechanical, multiphysics coupling, etc.), including support for other GDTech business groups (combustion, aerothermal, etc.) and on other tools.
• Participate in testing and performance evaluation, then in the deployment of calculation chains.
• Participate in R&D projects.
• Participate in the development of technical and commercial proposals in support of the Project Manager.
As part of these technical missions, you will be required to:
• Work in collaboration with other GDTech technical experts, particularly those involved in LES and Software Development activities.
• Participate in technical meetings with customers and partners.
• Act as GDTech France’s technical representative for partners, customers, and prospects, promoting the qualities of the developments carried out.
Profiledesired
You have a five-year degree (engineering or Master’s) in Fluid Mechanics (combustion, aerothermics, energy, thermodynamics).
Ideally, you will have a PhD and/or significant comparable experience gained in an industrial environment or research laboratory (in the aerospace, oil and gas, energy, or other sectors), demonstrating strong expertise in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and in-depth knowledge of high-fidelity LES CFD software such as YALES2, AVBP, CharLESX, or even openFoam.
Experience in development/coding, particularly Python and Fortran, would be highly appreciated and would set you apart.
Knowledge of ANSYS tools (SpaceClaim, Fluent Meshing, etc.), CATIA V5, ANSA, etc. would be an advantage.
To be quickly operational, you must demonstrate good adaptability, strong interpersonal skills, a genuine team spirit and collaborative attitude, and a sense of priorities and responsibilities.
You are rigorous, motivated, and proactive, and you are committed to participating in the development of an SME in a spirit of collective growth and promoting GDTech’s image of expertise and relevance to our customers
