Contextof the role
« CFD studies for the development of new-generation aircraft propulsion systems »
For over 20 years, GDTech has been supporting major aerospace and energy related firms and helping ambitious projects come true, especially for combustion related applications. GDTech is a certified supplier for the entire Safran group and a leading supplier regarding high-fidelity simulations. We are also involved in R&T projects, either as a leader, partner or subcontractor, and work in close relation with several combustion focused national laboratories.
Following its development in the aeronautics sector, GDTech France is hiring an engineer or PhD specialized in fluid dynamics and combustion to carry out LES (Large Eddy Simulation) and RANS activities on applications related to new-generation aircraft engines
Descriptionof the role
In this context, you will work as an engineer within the Engineering and Numerical Simulation department, reporting directly to the head of the combustion group at GDTech France. In this role, you will be required to:
• Carry out RANS & LES numerical simulation studies applied to combustion, two-phase flow aerodynamics, thermals, on various topics (injector design, pollutant prediction, engine performance, staged combustion, etc.)
• Analyzing CFD computations results, and comparing them to experimental data
• Implementing new LES numerical methods and frameworks to meet new industrial needs (alternative fuels, hydrogen, etc.)
• Occasionally, take part to the development of Python specialized inhouse codes
• Participate in GDTech or customer R&T projects
• Work in collaboration with other GDTech technical experts
